Our roots are firmly planted in East Africa, establishing a profound connection between our family and Zanzibar. We hold a genuine
passion for the island, its people, and its breathtaking natural beauty. More than 25 years ago, when we first set foot on
the renowned shores of this island, we made a resolute decision. Drawing on our education from the Cornell School of Hotel
Management, we aimed to blend the highest standards of hospitality with the personal touch and warmth characteristic of a family-owned
and operated business. Our goal was to mirror the magnificence, culture, charm, and distinctiveness of Zanzibar. We stand apart from
chains and avoid adhering to a standardized approach. Furthermore, you won't find a collection of resorts across various
Indian Ocean islands in our portfolio. Our unwavering commitment is solely focused on this place, in every conceivable aspect.
Our choice of location was thoughtful and deliberate. We have positioned ourselves on a serene and exquisite beach that has
received the prestigious honor of being recognized among the world's finest island beaches by Conde Nast Traveler. Notably, when
we arrived, only a few journalists or travel writers had ventured to our beach. As true explorers, our quest was driven by
the pursuit of the perfect backdrop. The validation of our choice by the foremost travel magazine on a global scale fills us
with immense pride and satisfaction.

Acknowledging our potential bias, we hold a sincere belief that the South East Coast offers an authentic and immersive Zanzibar beach experience for all who venture there.

We hold a profound sense of pride in one of our most remarkable achievements - the journey we have embarked on to provide training and education to
an entire generation of Zanzibaris and Tanzanians. This endeavor equips them with invaluable skills that they can carry throughout their lives. Our
unwavering commitment to this cause is unmistakable through our Zanzibar hospitality education programs, thoughtfully curated to train and employ local
Zanzibaris. Taking an additional step, we offer English classes to our staff, and it's truly heartwarming to witness the growth of numerous
exceptional managers who have risen through the ranks to achieve their utmost potential. The persistent attempts by esteemed international hotel
companies in Zanzibar to recruit our staff serve as a tangible testament to our unwavering dedication. While this recurring situation might be somewhat vexing,
it unquestionably shines a spotlight on our accomplishments and recognition within the industry.

Zanzibar Collection embodies an intricate architectural representation of Swahili design, seamlessly incorporating meticulously crafted elements
into its structure as a homage to the remarkable skills of local artisans. Our primary aim has been to pay tribute to and strengthen iconic designs,
traditions, and talents in a vibrant celebration of Swahili design.
The complete assortment of Zanzibari furniture is meticulously handcrafted by local artisans who have mastered the art of wood carving, a skill for
which Zanzibar is renowned. We take immense pride in showcasing traditional Swahili dancers and singers, while our Taarab band performs melodies
that would have resonated within the court of Sultan bin Said in 1880. This endeavor underscores our dedication to endorsing and celebrating the cultural
identity of Zanzibar, with the goal of preserving and honoring this iconic artistic heritage.
